Instructions on where to apply when an ID card is lost are included in Article 19, paragraph 1, subparagraph (ç) of the Republic of Turkey Identity Card Regulation. Accordingly, the ID card holder is obliged to report the lost ID card to the call center or population directorate in Turkey, and to the nearest foreign representative office abroad.
Therefore, the ID card loss report must be made via the e-government portal or to the call center in Turkey. The call center phone number is 199. The Alo 199 Citizenship Interaction Center provides services related to population procedures, citizenship, Turkish Republic identity card, passport, driver's license and address registration.
New ID card applications can be made via the e-government portal and to the Alo 199 call center or population directorates in the country, and to foreign missions abroad. However, when applying for a new ID card, a lost ID card or ID card becomes invalid.
