Unless you are a celebrity or high-profile person, common sense is recommended when searching for hidden cameras. Here, you should look for any small recording devices that are plugged into an electrical source. These could be alarm clocks, electrical outlets, or battery-powered electronic devices like smoke detectors. You can also look for flashing lights that will reveal the presence of a camera by turning off the lights. If in doubt, you can throw a towel over these items or tape the outlets.

Since many recording devices require an internet connection to transmit the images they record, you can check the devices connected to the Wi-Fi network and ask the hotel manager or host what they are. On the other hand, there are small devices that can be purchased online that can be used to detect such devices. None of these have 100% effective technology, but it can certainly increase the chances of finding a recording device that has gone unnoticed.

Of course, if you find a hidden camera like this in a hotel or rental house, take photos as evidence and report it to the police. Then look for another place to stay.
